Check Engine Light Diagnostics That Don’t Guess

For drivers who have a warning light, failed emissions, rough idle, misfire, or repeat repair that came back.

Signs you should bring it in

Check engine light is on or flashing
Rough idle, shaking, or misfire
Car hesitates, stalls, or loses power
Poor fuel mileage
The same code keeps coming back after another shop cleared it

What XAM checks before quoting

Read codes, then test the system instead of guessing
Verify sensors, coils, plugs, wiring, vacuum leaks, and fuel issues as needed
Explain the cause in plain English
Quote the repair only after the diagnosis makes sense

The XAM proof rule

A code is a clue, not a diagnosis. If a shop replaces parts just because a scanner named them, you can waste hundreds fast.

Questions customers ask

Is a free code scan the same as diagnostics?

No. A scan tells you what system complained. Diagnostics tests why it complained. XAM uses the code as a starting point, not the final answer.

Should I drive with a flashing check engine light?

No. A flashing light can mean an active misfire that can damage the catalytic converter. Stop driving if possible and call the shop.
